HOOD SEWING GUIDANCE COZ OF HIGH DEMAND

I guess, now it's time for giving a guiding in doing an Altair-Hood, which fabric to use (for the right look anno 1100). So many people ask me about it. You could say: persistant demand!:D
What I can do first is sending you my original pattern, I created for the hood (therefore I need ur emailadress, coz regretfully I have no other possibility to send it to here in deviantart). It has the original seams like in the game. Just write me a note and I will send you the pattern.

Notice: If you recieve the hood, do it use for personal use and not for giving it to other friends, related people etc. You can ask me for the pattern for yourself, not for others. Please respect this one rule.
-----------------
SHORT HOOD GUIDANCE
The fabric is white linen. Do neither use cotton nor bad quality linen. First of all you have to wash the bought linen, coz it shrinks 10%.
Use white cotton inside and thick linen outside.
The hood originally consist of nine parts. 9 outside and 9 inside (lining) parts. You actually have to sew the hood twice.
To strenghten the hood I used cords for all inner seams) and felt stripes (for the ending part on the shoulder toneck and back) in the seams for the "bead-look" in the game (therefore you have to use fabric inside and outside, otherwise you couldn't do the cord beads). It's very tough to sew this beads and you need patience.
Notice: With two layers the hood stays in form and is not that *flabby*.The hood is sewed on the upper robe layer so that it stays in form.

A proverb says, that half of the work is done by ironing. That's really true. You can do a lot of shaping with iron steam.
The rest of the robe has the same stragety like the hood.
How to sew it, you have to try yourself, explaings are not so helpful than a helpful hand, who shows you how to do it.

If you have any further questions, don't be shy to ask. I would like to help you, if I can.
